Rifle Events & Range Details

NESSCI has a 100 m rifle range with six undercover shooting benches. Targets are placed at the 25, 50 and 100 m earthen berms. The range is certified for .22 rim fire up to 7.62 mm (.308 inch) firearms. A shorter 25 m range is also available for rifle events.

IPSC Rifle Events — These matches are shot using any centre fire bolt, lever, pump or straight-pull action rifle in any calibre up to 30 cal. Targets can be fixed, moving, bobbing or swinging paper, or metal reaction targets that fall to score. Distances vary from 7m out to approximately 100 m. The stages start at various firing positions, and are scored by Comstock scoring. Ammunition is power factored to major or minor calibre.

PRC Rifle Events — These are .22 rim fire matches that use bolt, lever, pump or straight-pull action rifles. Magazines must be detachable. Targets are metal and can be fixed, moving, bobbing, swinging or fall to score. Distances are 7m out to approximately 100 m. The stages start at various firing positions, and are scored by fixed time or Comstock scoring. There is no ammunition power factor.

SSAA Rifle Events — These are .22 rim fire and centre fire matches that use bolt, lever, pump or straight-pull action rifles. Targets are the SSAA three-position field, bench rest and animal silhouette. Distances are 25, 50, 75 and 100 m. The stages start at various firing positions, and are scored by fixed time.

Metallic Silhouette Handgun and Rifle Events — These are .22 rim fire and centre fire matches that are shot at reduced-size paper animal silhouettes or at metal targets that fall to score. Distances are 25, 50, 75 and approximately 100 m. The stages start at various firing positions, and are scored by fixed time. There is no ammunition power factor.
